He had little changing, he worked hard, he tried to do his best and thought that he wasn't good enough, so in 1917, he went off for Cornell University. That place was good for a writer. He quickly went up the ranks, and
was soon nicknamed Andy White, because all who surnames were 'White', in Cornell were after nicknamed
'Andy'. Elwyn used Andy as his name for the rest of his life.
